Licenses for Zoom Accounts
SIL has an "Enterprise" level corporate account with Zoom, which gives us the ability to administrate Zoom accounts that use an SIL controlled email domain email address for the username.
Anyone can create a free, "Basic" level Zoom account just by signing in to Zoom at https://sil.zoom.us. That account gives the person the ability to have an unlimited number of Zoom meetings: one-to-one meetings have no effective time limit (technically 30 hours), while group meetings of 3 or more participants are limited to 40 minutes per meeting. The 40 minute countdown starts at the moment the 3rd participant joins the meeting. A group meeting has a maximum capacity of 100 participants.
A Zoom license assigned to an individual Zoom account removes the 40 minute group meeting limitation (max 30 hours), increases the meeting capacity to 500 participants, AND also includes a Zoom Webinar license add-on supporting a maximum of 500 attendees.
A Zoom license can be purchased by submitting a help ticket, selecting the Request Type of "Zoom". In the description field, provide the name and email address of the person that will be responsible for the account (the 'owner'), the email address to which the license will be assigned (if different than the owner's email address), and the finance account (ministry account number or entity account number). The cost is $140US/year, prorated to the SIL fiscal year (1-Oct. - 31-Sept.). An email will be sent to the owner of the account in September reminding them of the upcoming annual Zoom license charge and providing the opportunity to not renew the license if it is no longer needed.
If a Zoom license is only needed for a short period of time, we can provide a license for 1 month for a charge of $20.
